6th Arab-German Education and Vocational Training Forum
The 6th Arab-German Education and Vocational Training Forum has established itself as the most prominent information and networking platform for universities, colleges, vocational education and training companies as well as educational institutions from the Arab countries and Germany.
The event is jointly organized by the Ghorfa Arab-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry and iMOVE, a division of the Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (BIBB).
The forum will be held under the auspices of Her Excellency Professor Dr. Johanna Wanka, the Federal German Minister of Education and Research.
More than 250 leading experts and decision makers from business, science and politics will again attend the event to discuss latest trends, projects and cooperation opportunities in the higher education and vocational training sector.
The level of education has a significant impact on the performance of every national economy. Various Arab countries spend 25 percent of their budgets on the improvement of their education systems.
In 2013, the German federation, states and municipalities have therefore budgeted 116.6 billion Euros for educational expenditure, which is 4.6 billion Euro more than in the previous year. With around 80 billion Euro annually, Germany also spends large sums for research and development. Until 2020, the German government is targeting to invest 3 percent of its GDP in research and development and 10 percent in education and research.
Arab governments focus on enhancing the quality of education to meet the demands of economy and offer sustainable job opportunities for the growing number of youth.
The German vocational training system is an excellent model for enhancing employability combining both practical skills and theoretical know-how. This offers great potential for Arab-German partnerships.
Registration fee
- 300 Euros (plus VAT) for Ghorfa-members and education and vocational training institutions
- 400 Euros (plus VAT) for non-members and other companies
Terms and conditions
- If the person registered is unable to attend, a replacement may be nominated to take part in the event.
- The organizers reserve the right to cancel scheduled events or events which have already started in the case of lack of participants, illness on the part of lecturers/speakers or other disruptions which are not the fault of the organizers. Registration fees already paid will be refunded in such instances.
No claims other than reimbursement of money paid may be asserted.
