Cornelsen presents special "Environment and Sustainability" award

The special award is presented as part of the German Teachers' Prize and is also helping to highlight a key theme: Cornelsen takes its social responsibility for sustainable economic management and climate protection very seriously and is encouraging all schools to get involved in environmental action. The "German Teachers' Prize" involves pupils proposing their favourite teachers, teaching staff nominating school leadership teams and teachers submitting specific teaching projects. The special "Cultural Education" award presented by the PricewaterhouseCoopers Foundation is now also being added. This awards schools which interpret cultural education as being more than simply school classes attending events.

Bettina Stark-Watzinger, Federal Minister of Education and Research is patron of the "German Teachers' Prize – Innovative Teaching". Applications can be submitted up until 16 September 2022 at lehrkraeftepreis.de. Detailed information is also available here on the individual competition categories.

The competition sponsors are the German Association of Philologists and the Heraeus Educational Foundation. They are seeking to use the award to recognize the achievements of teachers and school leadership teams and to give this a greater public profile. Funding partners for the 2022 round of the competition are publishers Cornelsen, the PwC Foundation, the ZEIT publishing group and the school project "ZEIT für die Schule".
