IHK Education Prize awarded

The winners of the first IHK Education Prize have recently been selected. The final round for the award was decided in Berlin; the new prize is awarded by the organisation of German chambers of industry and commerce (IHKs) and the Otto Wolff Stiftung (Otto Wolff Foundation) to pay tribute to outstanding entrepreneurial commitment in the field of vocational education and training.

The procedure itself was a première: 300 experts took a live vote on the best in-company vocational training and continuing education concepts in Germany. More than 150 companies had submitted applications for the award; 15 had been accepted into the final round.

From these finalists, the five awardees were chosen during the event. In addition to honour and praise for their exemplary commitment in providing vocational education in enterprises, the winners received prize money totalling 30,000 Euro, which they donated to non-profit institutions for the promotion of vocational education in their respective regions.
