Established in 1997 as "Institute for Advanced Computing and Management" (IACM) at one location in New Delhi, IACM SmartLearn Ltd. today works through a network of more than 500 facilities across 27 States in India and has expanded its portfolio to a wide range of offers in various fields of vocational education and training. So far, IACM has trained more than 150,000 participants. Since 2015 IACM is an approved training partner of the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) of the Indian Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) and cooperates closely with six Sector Skill Councils under the NSDC.

Qualified German VET providers and institutions with relevant experience and expertise were then invited to share their proposal for assisting IACM in setting up such a program to prepare the young Indian workforce to work as Domestic Technician for installation, repair and maintenance of domestic fixtures and fittings. Together with the iMOVE experts, IACM drafted a request for proposals which was then published in iMOVE's online B2B marketplace. Afterwards iMOVE took part in evaluating the submitted proposals.

In January 2017, IACM visited the selected bidders in Germany for final discussions on the detailed project planning and implementation. In two skilling centres, IACM took a look at various workshops in order to learn about the training procedures and learning processes first-hand by watching and talking to the trainers and trainees. In a next step, IACM will complete the selection process and decide on a new partner from Germany.
