A delegation from Egypt visited the Central College of the German Confectionary Industry ZDS.
On July 6, five Egyptian training experts visited the Central College of the German Confectionary Industry ZDS. The delegation visit was part of a pilot project in preparation for a reform of the vocational education and training system in Egypt, which is financed by the European Union and the Egyptian government. The Egyptian delegation spent one week in Germany and the Netherlands to learn about the role of industry associations, trade unions and chambers of commerce and industry in the training sector of highly industrialised European partner countries.
ZDS-director Andreas Bertram informed the delegation about vocational and further training programmes and the consulting services of the ZDS while showing his visitors around the high-quality training and work departments. Only recently, the Egyptian training association for the food sector has initiated a further training of Egyptian experts for baked goods at the ZDS.
Founded in 1951, the ZDS College enjoys worldwide renown as centre for training and personnel development for all sectors of the confectionery industry. The ZDS trains and educates technical experts in the field of confectionery technology and provides skills in food technology. It also offers special courses to prepare for state examinations as industrial supervisor and certified food technician.
The ZDS seminars enjoy great popularity worldwide. Every year, participants from more than 30 nations attend technical conferences and practical courses concerning every aspect of confectionery production. The ZDS acts as consultant for companies all over the world and holds specific corporate training courses as well as conducting analyses and tests for member companies.
