Germany performed strongly in the OECD study "Learning for the working environment".
According to the authors, the dual vocational training is deeply rooted in Germany and internationally acknowledged. The study shows that young people are successfully prepared for the labour market with the help of vocational training which combines theory and practice.
The high prestige of the dual system is based on the high level of competence regarding many professions. Internationally, the training of these competences is often situated in the tertiary sector of education.
