Starting from february, employees of the German company Telekom can charge performance ratings from in-house further trainings to their qualification account within a certificate programme oder a master programme at the Berlin University for Professional Studies (DUW).
DUW president Prof. Dr. Ada Pellert said, "We want to bridge the gap between academic and in-house expertise. It is the future of lifelong learning to interlock learning programmes from both sectors. Together with Telekom we will develop a good model for this."
The certificate programmes of the DUW do not require a higher education entrance qualification. A vocational training certificate, several years of experience on the job and management responsibility also entitle employees to admittance. The DUW is the first university for further training in Germany recognized by the state.
"We want to motivate our employees to learn during their entire job career. The relationship between science and business is of significant value for us. The IT and telecommunications sector is subject to constant change, influenced by out staff. They must develop strategies and adapt to the changing requirements of their professional life", says Claudia Gutersohn of Telekom Training.
