According to the annual report of the Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (BiBB), the training market remains exceedingly stable. During the year of 2010 more than 560,000 training contracts were signed by young people. This number nearly reached the number of the previous year. Thus two out of three high school graduates started a vocational training in the dual system.
Companies are adjusting to the demographic development and the dropping numbers of high school graduates and applicants. Three out of four companies believe hiring young people as trainees will strengthen their corporate image.
