Modernised training for an attractive tourism industry

The training regulations for "Reiseverkehrskaufmann/-kauffrau" (travel agent) have been modernised and adjusted to current industry requirements and developments by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWi).

The main focus of job was on private travel arrangements. The new regulation will add another dimension to this job, namely the organisation of business trips. This constitutes a clear distinction to the "incoming-oriented" apprenticeship job "Kauffmann/Kauffrau für Tourismus und Freizeit" (travel and leisure agent). New regulations are necessary to adapt to the modern developments in the field of travel, especially the change from a seller's to a buyer's market. The duration of the training is three years.
