Health and social sector introduced modern professions

In order to cover the health industry's future demand for commercially educated managers with organisational skills, the state-recognised further training towards becoming a "Business Administrator in the Health and Social Sector" was introduced on January 1, 2012.

This new further training, standardised across the federation, harmonises the numerous opportunities for qualification in the field of middle management offered by the various chambers of industry and commerce. It was created on the basis of a new regulation from 2009 regarding the demand and requirements with respect to managers in the health and social sectors.

The future business administrators' tasks include, amongst other things, business management and human resource management in out-patient, part in-patient and in-patient facilities as well as in organisations, institutions and associations. This new professional further training proposition is open to all graduates of recognised vocational education professions in the health and social sector. For the main part it is addressed to interested members of the nursing profession, qualified healthcare and dentistry employees, social insurance clerks, employees in administrative professions and geriatric nurses, who have already gathered experience in large-scale utilities.
