The training institution based in Weinheim is one of the finalists in the running for the European training award.
In order to promote vocational education and training, the European Union is presenting the "VET Excellence Awards 2019" on the 17 October in Helsinki as part of "European Vocational Skills Week 2019". Among the finalists nominated by an international jury is the German National Bakers Academy based in Weinheim - the only German training provider in the final. The winner is determined by online voting.
"The vocational education and training (VET) Excellence Awards highlight good practice in vocational education and training all over Europe," explains the EU Commission on their website. The academy in Weinheim has been nominated for this as a particularly innovative training provider in the category of "VET Innovators". The award is presented by the European Commission in cooperation with the European Associations of VET providers.
"The bakery trade and its trade and technical schools in the German National Bakery Academy Association perform outstanding work in the area of vocational education and training. We would therefore be delighted to bring back the European VET Excellence award to Germany and to the bakery trade. To do this, however, we will need every vote."
