Fashion design in traditional crafts

In June 2024, sixteen participants from Montenegro joined a workshop for design, held by the German Expert Jennifer Sauer, a Master Goldsmith and gradate designer.

The national costumes of all ethnic communities in Montenegro were presented at the seminar, and the training on this topic was held by Dr. Anđela Ćipranić, a specialist in national costumes. Among the participants were artisans, goldsmiths and silversmiths, fashion designers and professors of secondary vocational schools and colleges.

In the workshop they perfected the idea process, the creation of new creations through naturalistic drawing and abstraction.

The training was supported by the Koblenz Chamber of Crafts through a project for female entrepreneurs of the Western Balkans and Ukraine, which was financed by the German Ministry for International Cooperation and Development through the German business partner SEQUA.

The mission of the Association of Entrepreneurs of Montenegro is to educate entrepreneurs and promote the best professional practices through these and similar projects. The vision of the Association is to bring together and connect female entrepreneurs, artisans regardless of profession and status in business entities.

Craft is an opportunity and an excellent basis for all economic activities, and business and entrepreneurship are the path to existential independence and economic empowerment.

Modern design is the dream of many participants, regardless of the profession and focus of the company, and the ideation process is basically the same for any field. We had the opportunity to convince ourselves of this through various projects in the art and textile craft, which were presented to us by our colleague from Germany, Jennifer Sauer, said the president of the Association, Edita Dautović.
