Investigating career options in the region using the job bus

Company-based training or (dual) course of study in the region: Future upper secondary school leavers from Friesland and Wilhelmshaven were able to find out about career pathways on the Jade-Bay GmbH job buses.

Jade-Bay is seeking to contribute to ensuring the availability of skilled workers - and wants to do so by making it clear to young people how many career and job opportunities are offered around the Jade Bight region. For example, vocational training in the dual system is possible in many companies and may be a springboard for a career. Continuing education and training alongside an occupation and focussed on advancement, for example as a master craftsperson or business administrator, can be completed as an extension of vocational education and training.

There was a new theme for each day. The first day was devoted to the Wilhelmshaven and Elsfleth sites of the Jade University and the last day to the Wittmund airbase. On each of the other days, two companies or institutions were scheduled on the timetable.

The businesses presented themselves with a short presentation, and then talked about the trainee occupations and requirements. This was followed by a tour of the company, and practical elements depending on the company. Departure points were Esens, Wittmund, Jever, Schortens, Varel, Wilhelmshaven, Tossens, Nordenham and Brake. Those interested received information via email about departure times and locations about a week before the tour began.
