Vocational High School Students in Istanbul Learn Business Life Through Games
Under the scope of the cooperation protocols between R.T Ministry of National Education (MoNE) and German Sparkassenstiftung for International Cooperation (German Sparkassenstiftung), the 'Business Games Trainings' dedicated to the Vocational and Technical High Schools and Public Education Centres in Turkey has started in Istanbul.
The Training of Trainers (ToT) to continue in Istanbul for two weeks, will be delivered by Sparkassenstiftung Expert Trainers to 68 teachers from 6 different groups. Following the ToTs in Istanbul, the teachers will transfer the training to the students in their schools. By the end of the year, from various cities 280 teachers attended these trainings are expected to reach at least 5000 students to provide and improve their financial and business knowledge.
Explaining the financial and business literacy trainings through the innovative training method called as 'Game based Training' method, Sparkassenstiftung Turkey supports the vocational high school students in Istanbul to improve business knowledge, supporting entrepreneurship activities and to increase the awareness level in access to finance. With 'Micro Business Game' and 'Savings Game' training modules, the participants manage their own family budget as well as their businesses over the game board during the training.
IT Lab and Hybrid Library for the students
Under the scope of "Financial Inclusion of Refugees and Host Communities in Turkey" Project of Sparkassenstiftung Turkey, financed by German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and implemented in cooperation with MoNE, on one side the trainings are completed whilst on the other side 24 hybrid libraries and 5 IT laboratories are established to facilitate the access to information.
The students studying in the pilot schools and the trainees who will receive trainings in the pilot Public Education Centres will easily access the Internet and on-line training with the IT laboratories and hybrid libraries. The students are aimed to learn while entertaining and easily access to information in environments equipped with many materials such as books, portable computers and tablets.
