Vocational schools welcome visitors from China

Members of the delegation from China showed great interest on their visit to the vocational schools in Schramberg.

As part of the partnership-based initiative, Headmaster Axel Rombach led the way with Andreas Bitzer, Head of Training at the Kern Liebers group of companies, and guided the interested guests from Taicang through the teaching rooms and workshops in the school.

The school reported that language barriers were quickly and easily overcome with the assistance of the interpreter from the small touring group, and English teacher Ulrike Teichert-Bouillon.

In the TAICANG GERMAN TECHNICAN CENTER (DAWT) vocational education and training is delivered in line with the German model of Kern-Liebers in cooperation with Mubea (Muhr und Bender KG) from Attendorn and the City of Taicang.

At this site in China, approximately 42 young people are appointed and trained as tool mechanics every year. Even the three-year training duration is the same as the dual education and training system in Baden-Wurttemberg. The information visit is therefore focussed in particular on the collaboration, organisation, integration and cooperation of the school with the training company.

The aims of the exchange programme are to gather international work experience and to acquire intercultural competence. Also possible is a pupil exchange and an exchange involving the vocational schools that cooperate with Kern-Liebers. The visitors from Taichang were looked after by local trainers and trainees.
