Key competencies
Intercultural Design Thinking training in the Global South with direct application and social impact
Corporate Profile
Since its origins in Kenya in 2016, the concept of Impact Week’s Design Thinking training has spread across 15 countries in Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America. By now, over 1300 people, including employees and managers of international companies from diverse disciplines worldwide and local academia and NGOs have followed our intense and interactive training to become Junior Design Thinking Coaches.
While we originated as a volunteer-driven initiative, and continue to be so at our core, we have been, since 2023 an independent non-profit social enterprise with two full-time and two part-time employees and a network of over 200 volunteers.
Our globally successful concept consists of a 3-day Train-the-Coach and a 4-day Challenge where our trainees use their new skills to coach a team of students to solve real-life challenges. Consequently, the concept is similar for every Impact Week, but our events are flexible in terms of size, location, and the challenges to be tackled, depending on the needs of everyone involved.
Further training components can be potentially added as an option as we work with Design Thinking professionals who have a plethora of skills and can offer more of their portfolio upon agreement.
