Oman: Bau- und Schulungsabkommen unterzeichnet

Im omanischen Arbeitsministerium wurden drei Abkommen zum Bau und Ausbau von Berufsbildungszentren unterzeichnet. Weitere 23 Vereinbarungen wurden zur Schulung und Einstellung Arbeitssuchender Omanis in verschiedenen Branchen getroffen.


Building, training pacts inked

Three construction agreements and other 23 agreements to train and hire a number of Omani job-seekers in a group of disciplines and various fields were signed at the Manpower Ministry yesterday.

The agreements were signed by Sheikh Abdullah bin Nassir Al Bakri, Manpower minister and a number of officials of the implementing companies, training centres and institutes in the Sultanate.

Hamad bin Khamis Al A’mri, undersecretary of the Manpower Ministry for Technical Education and Vocational Training said that the 1st construction agreement is related to constructing a vocational training centre in the Governorate of Al Buraimi worth RO2,967,800 with a capacity of 1,200 male and female students, pointing out that the centre will receive the 1st batch in the beginning of 2012.

In a statement to Oman News Agency (ONA), Al A’mri added that the vocational training centre in the Governorate of Al Buraimi will include new disciplines to be offered for the first time in the vocational training centres, including fields related to cosmetology, pointing out that the Manpower Ministry has started offering a number of disciplines for the Omani women.

He also affirmed that within the upcoming eighth five-year plan, the ministry has planned to construct a number of vocational training centres in the Governorates of Dhofar and Musandam and the regions of Al Dakhiliyah and Al Sharqiyah.

Al A’mri also pointed out that the second construction agreement is related to constructing a building for the Labour Department in the wilayat of Sumail in the Al Dakhiliyah Region worth RO575,400 stating that an agreement to construct a building for the Labour Department in the wilayat of Ibra in the Al Sharqiyah Region will be signed during the upcoming weeks.

Hamad bin Khamis Al A’mri, undersecretary of the Manpower Ministry for Technical Education and Vocational Training expressed his hope to sign other agreements to construct a number of labour departments in the Sultanate during the current five-year plan. He pointed out that the third construction agreement is related to the maintenance of the administrative building and classrooms in the Vocational Training Centre in the wilayat of Sur worth RO518,200.

Al A’mri stated that the training agreements, which were signed, include training 1,223 Omani trainees worth RO2,706,000, pointing out that the agreements included diversity in the areas of training to cover all economic sectors needed by the labour market, including technical and administrative fields, customer service, driving heavy equipment, refinery operators and other services needed by the market.
