China: Berufsbildung stärker beachten

Bildungsminister Zhou Ji hofft, dass China "in naher Zukunft" freie Berufsausbildung zur Verfügung zu stellen kann, um die wirtschaftliche Entwicklung des Landes zu fördern und die Nachfrage nach Facharbeitern zu befriedigen. Der stellvertretende Bildungsminister Lu Xin berichtet, es gebe 1.184 Berufsoberschulen und mehr als 14.000 Berufsschulen in China.


Pay More Attention to Vocational Education

China's education minister Zhou Ji recently said China hopes to provide free secondary vocational education "in the near future" to boost the country's economic development and better satisfy market demand for skilled workers.

Zhou said the government first would offer free secondary vocational education to poor rural students before gradually expanding the policy to all students.

An editorial in the Beijing Youth Daily on Sunday says it is highly important that China boost vocational education, because the country is working to upgrade its various industries. It says the country has shortages of skilled workers and senior technicians, because many students often bypass vocational training to pursue an academic degree.

The editorial notes that although China has set up many universities and expanded college enrollments in recent years, many graduates cannot find proper jobs because of severe competition. It says it is high time that the country attached equal importance to vocational education.



Enormes Angebot an beruflicher Weiterbildung in China

Dem stellvertretenden chinesischen Bildungsminister Lu Xin zufolge haben in den vergangenen Jahren in China durchschnittlich mehr als 150 Millionen Beschäftigte jährlich eine berufliche Weiterbildung unternommen.

Auf einer Arbeitssitzung sagte Lu Xin weiter, mittlerweile gebe es in China 1.184 Berufsoberschulen und mehr als 14.000 Berufsschulen.
