Establishing a Center of Excellence in Ethiopia: German Language Training & Workforce Development for Skills Mobility

Planned project

International Friendship Association (IFA) gGmbH plans to establish a multipurpose training center (Center of Excellence) in Ethiopia to provide intensive German language training and vocational skills and workforce development. Our goal is to enhance workforce mobility and bridge skills gaps by equipping trainees with the language proficiency and technical expertise needed for global job markets, particularly in Germany.

This initiative fosters international employment opportunities and strengthens educational and economic ties between Ethiopia and Germany.

Requirements for the training provider

We seek experienced training providers specializing in German language instruction (A1–B1) and vocational skills development to support Ethiopian workers' integration into the German labor market.

Providers must offer CEFR-aligned, culturally adaptive training through both virtual and in-person methods, ensuring participants achieve B1 certification.

Strong industry ties for job placements, experience in international workforce mobility, and collaboration with Ethiopian institutions are essential.

Additional expertise in legal migration pathways, employer engagement, and pre-departure programs is preferred. 

We also welcome financial support partners to strengthen program sustainability.
